Hi,
I've somebody who's looking for a dedicated server. They're looking into the Mid level scoot "INTEL XEON E-2176G" for $299.99/month. They're asking about a trial period though, so I have 2 questions.
1. Is there a trial period?
2. What are the terms of cancelling service shall find it not to be a good fit?

Hey Michal,

This is physical infrastructure, that we literally walk out into the data center, unbox, rack, stack, provision, stress test, then begin the migration, optimization, and ongoing proactive monitoring.

As a result, there are no formal trials here.

That said, if we in any way to not deliver the level of management we setout to do, we would absolutely provide a full refund on account of not hitting the service standards we guarantee.

So while we don't have any type of "trial" to see if they "like the server" - if they are committed to moving to us and willing to give us an honest effort, and if we don't deliver in any form, they can be certain a refund will be available to them. That said, we're rock solid and the best managed hosting that exists, I am beyond confident we'll deliver for them.

We do also have a half off your first month coupon which frees up some cost for the first month for them if they wish.

The coupon you can use is MANAGEDWP for the first month

The affiliate link will work, however you can also just let me know after they signup and I can manually credit your account for you. As a reminder, its 90 days after signup takes place before credit is available to withdraw.

I'm sorry, I wanted to follow up and just didn't get to it yet.
Yes, I placed the order for Schweitzer Linen.
This will be a custom coded e-commerce website. It's hosted on a different server right now. https://schweitzerlinen.com
No WP optimization will be needed. I guess for now, it should be just basic configuration. I'll ask their developers to log in to the server once it's up and to see what else they need.
Will that work?

Ah okay - well, we do need to have just a little information on where to start. We can do something simple like a basic CentOS7 install and get them some access to the server, but ideally we'd have a little more direction about what they need so we can get it ready for them.

So they have a server/technology stack they need installed?

You could also provide a login to the current server, and we can take a look ourselves and prep it.

Hi Scott,
Let's do a simple install with all the security implementations that are standard for you. What I know that they'll need is:
CentOS7
memcached
Direct Admin, so they can do basic stuff themselves.
Being able to choose php 5.6 and at least php 7.4 as standard.
A module for Direct Admin so they'll be able to set things like memory limit for php, max execution time and so on themselves.
They won't be using mail, so no need to install.
That should be it.

Just to confirm, if a control panel is going to be required, we prefer the use of cPanel.

cPanel is however $25, so perhaps the devs don't prefer it, whereas Directadmin is $10.

We would recommend cPanel however if you intend on using a control panel.

Are you expecting us to perform the migration, or will your devs handle the migration and ongoing upkeep?

1. They would really prefer Direct Admin with the modules they mentioned. That's what they work with on other servers and feel more comfortable with DA over cPanel.
However, if there's a challenge in installing DA then they can go with cPanel.

2. They also need lets encrypt installed.

3. Migration - them
Ongoing upkeep - BigScoots

There is no challenge installing it, it's just a very inferior control panel, we completely stopped using it because it makes management incredibly difficult. It lacks tons of automation and navigating in the control panel itself is extremely confusing. We are a fully managed provider but with that comes some exclusions and one would be this control panel so if you prefer to stick with DA it would be majorly up to your developers to handle. Please also think about emergency situations, if there is an issue and you need something resolved quickly, depending on what the issue is, may take much longer to resolve for you due to using DA.

This cannot be a requirement if you choose DA, sorry.

If you require ongoing upkeep from us, then it has to be cPanel.
